Guess the Candies
Where: Waterford Library
When: Wednesday, October 1 - Monday, October 27
          Open hours

Guess the number of candies in the candy jar and win the whole jar.

 

Creepy Candy Count
Where: Keyes Library
When: Wednesday, October 1 - Wednesday, October 29
        Open hours

Come by the library and guess the number of candies in the jar. The closest guess wins the entire jar of candy.

 

Guess the Candy in the Jar
Where: Riverbank Library
When: Wednesday, October 1 - Thursday, October 30
        Open hours

Through the month of October, the Riverbank Library will display a big jar of candy.  Customers young and old are invited to guess the amount of candy in the jar. The winner will be the closest guess without going over. The prize for the winner will be the whole jar of candy, including the jar.

 

Masquerade Masks Craft
Where: Denair Library
When: Tuesday, October 21
          1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Drop in between 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. and make a masquerade mask. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.

 

Teen Duct Tape Craft
Where: Oakdale Library
When: 
Thursday, October 23
         3:30 p.m.

Teens can get creative with duct tape. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.

 

Lego Play
Where: Modesto Library
When: Wednesday, October 29
         3:30 p.m.
Ages: 4 - 18

Children ages 4-18 will have the opportunity to build LEGO displays for the library. LEGO play helps children develop fine motor skills. Children under 4 are welcome, but must have direct adult supervision.

 

Halloween at Hogwarts

          3:00 p.m.

Individuals of all ages can make Harry Potter-themed crafts, participate in potion making classes, and sample sweet treats from Honeydukes. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.

 

Halloween Fun - Batman Day Replay
Where: Waterford Library
When: Thursday, October 30
          3:00 p.m.

Join us for crafts, fun, and trick or treat goodies for costumed kids of all ages. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.

 

Game Day
Where: Patterson Library

Wednesday, November 5
         3:30 p.m.

Join us for games and crafts at the library. All ages are welcome. Games promote sharing, working together, and problem solving skills.

 

Glass Bottle Scarecrow Craft
Where: Ceres Library

Wednesday, November 12
         3:00 p.m.

Using a glass bottle and various craft supplies you will make your own scarecrow. Children under the age of 12 must have a parent assist them. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.

 

CD Art
Where: Waterford Library
When: Thursday, November 13
        3:00 p.m.

Experiment with art techniques using old CDs and create one of a kind home decor. Books will be available to browse and for checkout.

 

International Games Day
Where: Salida Library

        1:00-3:00 p.m.

The whole family is invited to play board and Wii games in the library's Story Time room to celebrate International Games Day.

 

Wii Game Day

         3:30 p.m.

Teens can learn tactics and teamwork while playing fun games. Games help promote teamwork skills and crafts provide a creative outlet. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.

 

Perler Bead Keychains and Other Creations
Where: Turlock Library

Tuesday, November 18
         3:30 p.m.

Create perler bead keychains in vibrant colors and different shapes and designs by heating and melting different arrangements of beads. Use your own artistic ideas and imagination. Books will be on display and available for checkout.

 

Felt Bookmark Craft
Where: Denair Library

         4:00 p.m.

Never lose your place again! Stop by and make a felt book mark. Books will on display and available for checkout.

Use colorful duct tape to make wallets, roses, book covers and any other art project you can imagine. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.
