Family Game Day

We need your help with our National Library Week Display. Stop by the Denair Library and tell us why you love your library and receive a sweet treat. Your response will become part of our pixelated heart display during National Library Week.

 

Table Top Game Week
Where: Modesto Library
When: Monday, April 6 - Thursday, April 9 - Open hours
        Saturday, April 11 - 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Kids, grab your parents. Families can enjoy playing with an assortment of board games. Ask at the Children’s Desk for more details.

 

Come Play Wii at the Library
Where: Keyes Library
When: Wednesday, April 8
           1:00 p.m.

Come play the Wii at the library. All ages can come play the Wii and adults can play Wii fit. Books will be on display and available for checkout.

 

Spring Break Fun
Where: Keyes Library
When: Wednesday, April 9
           10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Children, tweens, teens, and families can come by the Keyes Library for some fun during their spring break. Participants can make unique magnets, build LEGO creations to be displayed in the library, or play fun Wii games.

 

Craft Day for Teens +
Where: Oakdale Library
When: Monday, April 13
           3:30 p.m.

Make wonderful creations out of duck tape or perler beads. Books will be on display and available for checkout. Program sponsored by the Friends of the Oakdale Library.

 

Socktopus Craft
Where: Waterford Library
When: Tuesday, April 14
        3:30 p.m.

Sock + Octopus = Socktopus Use a single sock to make this cute sea creature. Books will be on display and available for checkout.

 

Insurgent Trivia Night
Where: Newman Library
When: Tuesday, April 14
        4:00 p.m.

Celebrate the release of the Insurgent movie. Discuss the movie and choose your faction. Play Insurgent-themed games and make a craft. Snacks will be provided.

 

As Seen on Pinterest
Where: Turlock Library
When: Wednesday, April 15
          7:00 p.m.

Join us the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Turlock Library as we make popular arts & crafts as seen on Pinterest. This month, we will focus on Book Art as a way to recycle used books. This class is recommended for ages 14 and older. Registration is required. Space is limited.  Please call 664-8100 to register. Pinterest is an online tool for collecting and organizing things you love.  You do not need to be familiar with Pinterest to attend.

 

Butterfly Release

Join us as we release the butterflies that we have been watching change from caterpillars to cocoon to butterfly.

 

Recycled Piggy Bank
Where: Turlock Library
When: Tuesday, April 21
           4:00 p.m.

Prepare for Earth Day by making a Piggy Bank from a plastic drink bottle. Watch your savings grow as you help the environment by putting that used bottle to a good use. Books will be available for checkout.

 

Hair Tie Bracelets
Where: Hughson Library
When: Wednesday, April 22
          3:00 p.m.

Have fun making chain bracelets out of basic hair ties. Books will be available for checkout.

 

Earth Day Craft Supply Exchange
Where: Modesto Library
When: Saturday, April 25
         12:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Bring your unwanted, unused crafting supplies (in good condition only) and trade with other crafters. Drop off items from April 20, 2015 to April 23, 2015 at the Modesto Library Reference Desk to receive your swap admission ticket. Then join us on the exchange day to find treasures for your crafting projects. Enjoy light refreshments and learn about library resources. Reducing, reusing, and recycling unwanted items help promotes the health of the community and of our natural resources.

 

Free Knitting and Crocheting Classes
