Magnet Craft
Where: Newman Library
When: all month during August
            Open hours

Stop in anytime this month to make a magnet for your locker or refrigerator. Directions and materials will be provided at the teen area. You may also bring in your own small picture to use.

Superhero Party
Where: Keyes Library
When: Tuesday, August 4
            2:30 p.m.

Come by the Keyes Library to celebrate the end of summer reading with a Superhero Party! Participants can play Pin the Symbol on Batman, a Spiderman Toss Game, and a Superhero Bean Bag Toss Game. Participants can also pose as their favorite superhero in our photo booth area and make superhero lollipops, masks, and scratch art. Individuals can also use their super brain power to guess the number of candies in the jar,  the closest guess will win the entire jar of candy. Cake and light refreshments will also be served while supplies last. Children who participated in the Superhero Academy will also receive a diploma, which certifies they can assume their superhero identity. Individuals are welcome to come in costume, however, costumes are not required.

Chalkboard Journals
Where: Denair Library
When: Tuesday, August 4
            3:00 p.m.

Transform a basic composition notebook into an awesome journal. We will be painting the front of the books with chalkboard paint.

Perler Bead Craft
Where: Keyes Library
When: Wednesday, August 5
            1:00 p.m.

Stop by the library to make unique designs using fusible perler beads.

Read S'more Books
Where: Keyes Library
When: Monday, August 10
            10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
All ages

Celebrate S'more's Day at the Keyes Library. All ages can come by and make a yummy s'more. Children can make a cute craft foam necklace that looks like a smore. Individuals can also check out s'more books while they are at the library.

Duct Tape Craft
Where: Oakdale Library
When: Monday, August 10
          3:30 p.m.

Make wonderful creations out of duck tape, from flowers to wallets to anything that "sticks" in your mind.

Socktopus Craft
Where: Keyes Library
When: Wednesday, August 12
            1:00 p.m.

Make a cute octopus using a sock.

Backpack Tag Craft
Where: Hughson Library
When: Tuesday, August 18
            3:00 p.m.

Make personalized Backpack ID tags using glitter, paper, and luggage tags.

Craft Deja You
Where: Keyes Library
When: Wednesday, August 19
            1:00 p.m.

Have you done these crafts before? Did you miss a craft over the summer? Come by the Keyes Library to make a variety of crafts from the past few months.

As Seen on Pinterest
Where: Turlock Library
When: Wednesday, August 19
          7:00 p.m.

Join us the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Turlock Library as we make popular arts & crafts as seen on Pinterest. This month we will create decorative dishes with just a Sharpie and a plain white plate. This class is recommended for ages 14 and older. Registration is required. Space is limited. Please call 664-8100 to register. Pinterest is an online tool for collecting and organizing things you love. You do not need to be familiar with Pinterest to attend.

Tween Animals - Fake or Real Quiz
Where: Empire Library
When: Tuesday, August 24 - Saturday, August 29
         Open hours
Ages: 9-18

There will pictures of weird animals posted. Teen and tweens can guess if they real or fake. The answers will have some facts about the animals that are real. There will be a prize for partcipants.

Crazy Pencil Craft
Where: Riverbank Library
When: Wednesday, August 26
         3:30 p.m.

Children will make fun and crazy pencil toppers. Pencils and supplies are provided.

Gel Pen Craft
Where: Hughson Library
When: Thursday, August 27
            3:00 p.m.

Spice up your plain gel pens with paper decorations.

All Ages Coloring Day
Where: Ceres Library
When: Thursday, August 27
           3:30 - 4:45 p.m.


Come color your stress away. All ages are invited to color at the library. The library will provide coloring pages, crayons and markers. Finished artwork will be displayed.

Free Knitting and Crocheting Classes
Where: Waterford Library
When:  Wednesdays 
          3:00 p.m.

Knitting and crochet samples

Knitting and crocheting are a blast. Whether you are a beginner or need help with a special project this fun group is here for you. Please call ahead to confirm class, 874-2191.
