LEGO Play
Wednesdays, April 8 and April 22
3:30 p.m.

Children ages 4 - 18 will have the opportunity to build LEGO displays for the library. LEGO play helps children develop fine motor skills. Children under 4 are welcome, but must have direct adult supervision.

Star Wars Week

There will be a variety of activities during the week:

  • Monday, May 4 - May the 4th Be With You - Book drawings all day long. Ask at the Children's Desk, Reference Desk, or check out Facebook for more details.
  • Saturday, May 9 at 12:00 p.m. - Cosplay your favorite Star Wars character and March around the Library.
  • Saturday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m. We “Hope” you will stay for the 1977 classic that started the epic adventure a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Dinner Theater: the Mark & Dre Show

6:30 p.m.

You provide the dinner and we provide the theater. Enjoy an extremely funny, intelligent and fast paced comedy stage show with world class juggling, incredible stunts, audience participation, 7 ft. unicycling, sketch comedy and guitar picking musical parody genius that never lets up. Best for ages 6 and up. Dinner is at 6:30 and the show begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are required. Sign-ups begin April 22. For more information call 558-7810.

Crazy 8s Math: Super Cube Shuffle

Math and art collide when you use specially colored cubes to create funky designs. Then, Test your memory skills as you race to copy a giant pattern that your friends are spinning around. Crazy 8s is an after-school math club designed to get kids fired up about math. Every week Crazy 8ers build stuff, run and jump, make music, make a mess… all while bonding with new friends over math. Crazy 8s Math: Epic Air Traffic Control

Villains Invade Summer Reading

Defeat these villains with your reading abilities. Stop by to celebrate the start of the Summer Reading Program with a Villain-themed party. Participants can pose as several Disney and comic book villains in our photo booth area. There will also be villain-inspired crafts, including scratch art. Children, tweens, teens, and adults can also sign-up for our annual summer reading program where participants can win prizes just for reading. Cake and refreshments will be served.

Casa Guanajuato les invita a celebrar el día de los niños con la obra de teatro con títeres, Diferencias. Diferencias es una obra de teatro de títeres de varilla que nos presenta la aventura de tres hermanas: Un ojito, Dos ojitos y Tres ojitos, quienes crecen a la sombra y tutela de un extraño árbol el cual tiene un gran rencor contra los humanos. Una historia que nos alerta sobre la importancia de la tolerancia a la diversidad racial, apoyando así, el creciente problema de bulling.

Stanislaus County Library and Casa Guanajuato invite you to celebrate the Day of the Child with a puppet story titled Differences. Differences is a play of rod puppets that presents the adventures of three sisters: One Little Eye, Two Little Eyes and Three Little Eyes, who grow under the protection of a strange tree which has a grudge against humans. A story that alerts us to the importance of tolerance for racial diversity thus supporting the growing problem of bullying.

The library will provide a beverage and popcorn. Books will be displayed and available for checkout.
