Children's Internet Use Guidelines
What is the Children's Internet?
The Children's Internet offers filtered internet access to children aged 4 - 12 at two computers in the Children's Room. Children aged 4 - 8 must have a parent with them while using the computers. Children over the age of 12 must use the computers on the Adult Department. Filters are not perfect. If you have concerns, stay with your child.
How do I sign up to use the Children's Internet?
Sign up at the Children's Desk by showing your library card. If you do not have a card, you may use your parent's card if they stay with you while you use the computer.
Can I make reservations to use the Children's Internet?
The computers are available on a first come, first serve basis. You must sign up in person. You can sign up for 1/2 hour at a time. When your time is up, you may sign up for another 1/2 hour. You may use the Children's Internet for a total of 1 hour per day.
Can I send e-mail on the Children's Internet?
No. E-mail, chat, downloading and saving information to a disk are not available.
Can I print information on the Children's Internet?
Yes, you can print pages for a fee. For black and while prints, the first two pages are free and rest cost 10 cents per page. Color prints cost 25 cents a page.
