Summer Reading Club 2009

June 1 - August 15

at your local Stanislaus County Library branch

Elephant

Kids earn prizes for reading!

How Summer Reading Club works:

  • Kids ages 0 to 6th grade can get a reading log at any Stanislaus County Library branch.
  • Use the reading log to keep track of every DAY that they spend at least 15 minutes reading, or having someone read to them.
  • After 7 days of reading, kids can bring their reading log (signed by a parent) back to the library to collect a prize.
  • Any child who finishes the whole reading log (28 days of reading) will also receive a certificate of completion and a special prize.

Details:

  • Any type of reading material counts:  books, magazines, comics, newspapers.
  • Each day of reading counts, even if the days are not consecutive (a child does not need to read seven days in a row to earn a prize, he just needs to read seven days total).
  • Kids can repeat the program once they have finished a 28-day reading log.
  • Kids may set their own goals of how much time they will read each day, more than the 15-minute minimum.
